How to Prepare for an ISMIE Risk Assessment
Course description
Join ISMIE risk management colleagues, James Gustas and Angela Mead, for a discussion on how to prepare for your facility’s risk assessment. In this presentation, Gustas and Mead will provide an overview of the ISMIE risk assessment, including the goals of the assessment as well as how to best prepare for the discussion. The webinar will include an interactive conversation surrounding the most frequently asked questions about the risk assessment, and Gustas and Mead will share tips and pointers for ensuring a productive assessment. Attendees will walk away ready to engage in a process designed to improve their facility’s processes and overall risk – ultimately helping to keep patients safer and more satisfied.

James Gustas, MBA, BSN, has been employed by ISMIE since 2022, serving as a Risk Management Specialist. He uses his experience in the fields of patient safety and risk management, healthcare and education to provide comprehensive consultations to ISMIE policyholders, their employed staff and brokers. James is also a former U.S. Army Sergeant who served as a combat medic in Afghanistan and is a former critical care nurse who has worked in multiple hospital settings throughout Chicagoland. He is also a member of the American Society for Health Care Risk Management.
Angela Mead, MPH, CPHRM, has been employed by ISMIE since 2022 and is a Risk Management Specialist. She utilizes her experience in the fields of patient safety, medical practice management, risk management, and quality to provide comprehensive consultations to ISMIE insureds, their employed staff, and brokers. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management through the American Hospital Association.
