It’s All About the Data: A Simple Approach to Addressing the Complex Challenges of Cybersecurity
Course description
Data is vital in today’s economy and society, and this is particularly true of the healthcare sector. Our transactions – financial, medical and others – are fueled by a river of data from which we extract information and intelligence. The complexities of protecting this data may seem daunting – particularly in the midst of shifting norms being driven by a pandemic. In reality, though, we can protect our data by implementing simple “cyber hygiene” practices in our organizations. This presentation will outline a “back-to-basics” approach that will enhance the security of any healthcare organization’s data and data-driven processes.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Summarize the relationship between data, information and intelligence
- Describe how COVID-19 increased the attack surface and created new threat vectors in healthcare
- Identify good “cyber hygiene” strategies that can lead to significant improvements in your cyber posture
Target audience
Physician and clinician policyholders
