MPL: What Every Physician Should Know about Managing Risk and Keeping Patients Safe

January 24, 2024

Course description

Many physicians fear the medical malpractice system. But what do we know how the medical professional liability system works? How much does the risk of a liability claim vary by physician specialty? Are some patients more likely to sue? Have past reforms had an impact on the frequency of claims? What can physicians do to protect themselves? Join Professor David Hyman, MD, JD, for evidence-based answers to these and other questions.

  • Describe the basic principles of the medical professional liability system
  • Describe past medical liability crises and the impact of recent reforms
