Course description

In the current healthcare environment, strong risk management has never been more important – or, arguably, more complex. This course reviews common risk exposures and key mitigation strategies with the aim of supporting clinicians in providing better and safer patient care. Whatever their specialty or practice setting, learners will gain practical tips and tools to incorporate into their own risk management efforts.

At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

• Identify core principles of effective risk management
• Recognize common risk exposures, particularly those that apply to your own practice of medicine
• Summarize strategies to reduce risk, enhance patient safety and strengthen overall quality of care

Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
