Course Description

Telemedicine has grown exponentially in the United States over the past few decades, and contemporary trends in the health care environment are serving to fuel this growth into the future. Learn how your practice can lean into new technology and about best practices that can expand health care beyond bedside.

This program will feature Becky Sanders,  Program Director of the Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center.

  • Identify the difference between "live and interactive" and "store and forward" telemedicine
  • Discuss the three critical aspects of developing a telemedicine program
  • Identify the most important features when selecting telemedicine equipment
  • List aspects to consider when assessing telemedicine room design

Becky is Senior Director of the Indiana Rural Health Association and Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center's Program Director. In this role, she works with UMTRC consortium partners to provide a single point of contact for telehealth resources throughout Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan.

Prior to her current positions, Becky Sanders served IRHA in the role of Indiana Telehealth Network Director, where she administered the creation of the Indiana Telehealth Network (ITN) through objectively scored Requests for Proposals for the construction of high speed fiber optic broadband lines for internet and dedicated transport services to the ITN healthcare participants.

Ms. Sanders has been with the IRHA since 2008. She previously worked in telecommunications for over 10 years at the National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA), where she held various positions in their Chicago, Illinois and Whippany, New Jersey offices.
