Course description
Do you know how to recognize impairment due to substance use disorder (SUD) in your colleagues, or even in yourself? Are you aware of reporting requirements when impaired colleagues might be treating patients? Join ISMS and a distinguished group of panelists for a webinar discussing all aspects of physician impairment, from identification of impairment, to how to respond to it in your practice, to treatment options.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize when they or a colleague might need to seek treatment for an impairment related to a substance use disorder.
- Discuss treatment options through physician health programs (PHPs) and other programs tailored to medical professionals.
- Describe how regulators and practice leadership respond to issues involving physician impairment and substance use disorder.
