Course Description

Telemedicine is a fast-growing field within health care, but its use thus far has largely been limited to interactions between physicians. Now, due to the pandemic, patients want to use telemedicine and physicians want to offer it. But provision of telemedicine is complex, and it takes significant time to implement a successful and safe telemedicine system. This webinar will help physicians understand how to find out which originating sites are eligible for reimbursement for telemedicine services under Medicare, and will review the appropriate billing requirements and codes for Medicare telemedicine services, including Remote Patient Monitoring and Chronic Care Management.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the large increase in virtual care visits, and lessons learned, due to COVID-19.
  • Discuss the expansion of Medicare and Medicaid originating sites.
  • List and describe the new telemedicine reimbursement codes included in the CMS 2021 Physician Fee Schedule
