Course Description

Part 2 will focus on the Good Faith Estimate requirement (GFE), which is part of the federal NSA. All physicians and healthcare professionals are required to provide cost estimates to uninsured patients or patients who choose to pay out-of-pocket for services. 

Learning objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Circumstances when a good faith estimate must be provided
  • The format and content of a good faith estimate, and who is responsible for preparing the estimate
  • Understanding the “good faith” part of the GFE requirement
