Course description

The transition to managed care organizations (MCOs) for the majority of Illinois Medicaid patients is causing significant concern and confusion, both for patients and for health care professionals. Patients have had a hard time understanding the new system and their responsibilities within it, and physicians are frustrated by the administrative hassles and lack of transparency they are encountering as the transition progresses.

In order to address these problems, the state re-bid its managed care program for 2018 in order to increase integration of care, streamline current MCO programs, expand coverage in Illinois, and to seek innovative approaches to care coordination, population health management, and value-based payment. This webinar will help you understand the scope of Illinois’s revised MCO-program, HealthyChoice Illinois, as well as help you recognize new MCO options for your community and how to contact them, identify key elements of the new MCO contracting process, and explain the roll-out process and how it effects Medicaid clients in your area.
