Course Description

Survivors of sex and labor trafficking come into contact with a variety of health care settings more frequently than you may think, but they are rarely identified. This webinar will provide physicians and their staff with the knowledge and tools they need to be better equipped to identify and respond to patients who have experienced trafficking.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

1. Identify signs, symptoms, and chief complaints commonly presented by human trafficking victims in the healthcare setting
2. Describe methods of engagement and common barriers to patient disclosure
3. List screening questions that help identify situations of sex and labor trafficking
4. Discuss practical considerations for providing trauma informed care
5. Describe community resources available to survivors, including connections to services, legal assistance, and law enforcement
