Course description

This activity focuses on the privacy and security policies and procedures that offices can develop and implement to align with HIPAA’s requirements.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify security risks associated with medical records as well as common electronic devices used in everyday life (i.e. smartphones, iPads, tablets)
  • Analyze security risks associated with this information
  • Create practice risk prevention techniques to ensure the integrity of this information
  • Use on-going monitoring as a safeguard to protect practice privacy and security
